Data Integration and Migration
In order to compress data into (action-relevant) information, it needs to be compiled from within different IT systems, filtered (extraction), harmonised, sorted, aggregated and recoded (transformation) and buffered/stored (loaded). This form of data integration and data migration is known as ETL (Extract, Transform and Load).
ETL tools have to be able to perform data integration and migration tasks effectively. But it needs to be recognised that these tools are made for experts. The graphical user interface has a correspondingly subordinate role in this. The important aspects, for example, in complex transactions or validity checks are the functional scope of the solution, its flexibility and the simplicity of the ETL process definition. To achieve this, the Siron technology provides an intuitive, easy-to-use and highly-flexible procedural 4GL language (in German).
One of the proven strengths of the Siron technology is its platform independence (mainframe, Unix and Windows) as well as its connectivity to all kinds of systems and databases – vital criteria for effectively fulfilling data integration and migration tasks.
Migrations from one system to another are a core task of data management. Data is transferred via processes and job steps – normally through metadata or the transactional data itself – for example from a host-based application like DCW to a client/server-based system like SAP R/3.
For these and similar scenarios, our experienced consultants are on hand to perform or accompany such migrations on a service basis with the help of the Siron technology.
The advantages for you? Efficient tools, experienced consultants, field-tested knowledge and a high level of automation alongside high flexibility (e.g. in the migration of ERP systems to R/3 industry solutions).
