Donations Instead of Gifts
TONBELLER supports 'Das Waldpiraten-Camp', a Facility of the German Childhood Cancer Foundation.
Like in preceding years, TONBELLER has decided to refrain from sending Christmas cards and gifts to customers and partners in favor of non-profit regional projects.
The Waldpiraten-Camp in Heidelberg has been started in 2003 by the German Childhood Cancer Foundation and is the first and only institution of its kind in the German-speaking world. It is modeled according to recreational camps in the USA, Ireland or Canada. The camp enables children with cancer to think less about their illness and to regain their self-confidence, courage, and strength in an informal setting.
In Germany alone, 2,000 children and adolescents per year are diagnosed with a malignant disease. An important approach of dealing with the illness in a sustainable way is staying in a facility whose program is tailored to the needs of these children. The camp has been awarded the aftercare price by the German Childhood Cancer Aftercare organization.
Social responsibility and sustainability are of vital importance to the corporate culture at TONBELLER. With its donation this year, the Bensheim-based company supports the valuable commitment of the founders of the facility which is almost entirely financed by donations and is in constant need for funds.
On December 11, on behalf of all customers, partners, and employees, the managing board of TONBELLER handed a donation cheque to the Waldpiraten-Camp.
